Its Jazz time this month… Richard Wetherall/Piano and Steve Buckley/Guitar – Friday 23rd February Richard Wetherall Richard has been working as a pianist for 25 years in which time he has played with jazz musicians Richard Iles, Bobby Wellins and Mark Nightingale. He has toured worldwide with Casablanca Steps and Dominic Halpin and the Honey B’s including supporting Tony Bennett and his quartet in Halifax, Canada. Steve Buckley Steve graduated from Leeds College Of Music in 1993 and was winner of the guitar prize in his last year. Since then he has performed and recorded guitar, bass, pedal steel, dobro and lap steel with many artists and musicians including; Corinne Bailey Rae, Martha Reeves, Richard Hawley, Cornershop, Kirsty Almeida, Jazz musicians Guy Barker, Jean Toussaint, Jim Mullen, Pete King, Mark Nightingale, Alan Skidmore also gigs and/or recording with members of Morcheeba, The Cinematic Orchestra, Black Grape, Faithless, Mark Ronson’s band, Zero 7, and Texas. This event is part of a regular monthly series of ‘Strum and Sip’ acoustic music sessions at The Albert Club, West Didsbury, Manchester, featuring some of the best local acoustic acts in our relaxed and intimate setting.
